The Sufi poet Rumi wrote these lines for you centuries ago:
———
Your legs will get heavy
and tired.
Then comes a moment of feeling the wings you’ve grown,
lifting.
——— Rumî
You’re right to notice this juncture. The land may look the same around you, but a seismic shift has occurred within your being. Imagine taking off water-logged trousers and soaked boots. You’ve been carrying too much for too long. It is time to feel lighter. Have compassion for yourself.
Even though you focus on one goal at a time, don’t be surprised if you notice a cascading effect. Solutions to problems you didn’t even know you were working on will suddenly emerge. When you value and prioritize yourself, other aspects of your life will benefit from this outlook.
Take a deep breath now. Let your shoulders drop. Feel your neck relaxing as you exhale. Stretch your arms and see if you can’t just feel those wings of yours… lifting.
